In the scales challenge you will practice and familiarize the notes that belong to a specific scale and a tonic note. Once you have selected your scale from the list (more scales will be added over time) you also have to pick the tonic note for the scale.
I.e. you could select C-Major. Which means a major scale with the tonic of C.
As always you can practice the sharp notation as well as the flat notation by choosing it in the options.
You can choose between 3 game modes or challenges:
The yes/no challenge
Here you will train the selected scale by deciding if or if not the asked note belongs to the scale.
The asked note will be displayed on the piano keyboard. If you decide that the note belongs to your selected scale then press the checkmark button below. If you decide that it does not belong then press the X labeled button.
In the example above you are asked for the note A#. This note does not belong to the selected C-Major scale so we need to press the X key.
The note names challenge
Here you will train the selected scale while identifying and memorizing the notes of the scale.
The asked note will be displayed on the piano keyboard. Your goal is to press the corresponding note button for the displayed note in the button section below.
In the example above you are asked to press the button labeled F.
The expert challenge
In this challenges you will be asked all possible notes. When the asked note belongs to the scale you selected you need to press the button with the note name as the label. In case the note does not belong to the selected scale you need to press the X button.
In the example above you are asked to press the button labeled D since the note D belongs to the selected scale of C-Major. Otherwise you would have pressed the X button.
